About Us

I have loved animals since I can remember. I currently have four cats of my own Grace, Onyx, Riley, and Oliver and I also have a Quarter Horse named Sam. I do Hunters and some Combined Training with him at a co-op barn here in Raleigh. I had lived in my hometown of Knoxville, TN for most of my life and that is where I started working for two wonderful vet clinics and started building a loyal client base for my pet and house sitting business, over 8 years ago. My husband Brent and I moved to Raleigh so that he could complete his Master's Degree and we look forward to staying here for many years to come. Currently, I provide pet sitting services on a part time basis while also working for a local non-profit organization, serving at risk youth, in the downtown Raleigh area.

I have shown competitively in a number of riding disciplines, including Hunter/Jumper, Hunt Seat, Saddle Seat, and Western. I qualified for the Morgan Horse National and World Championships in 2000 and came in third place out of over 25 riders in my Hunt Seat Class. I have enjoyed a diverse experience with the types of horses I have ridden over the years as well as the disciplines, which has increased my horse knowledge and care capabilities.

I was featured in the Knoxville News Sentinel newspaper a few summers ago, for an article interview as well as pictures at one of my pet and house sitting jobs. I explained the benefits of pet sitting over the traditional boarding situation, which gave readers an inside look at the duties and professionalism that are expected in this line of work.

Reasons to Hire an Experienced and Professional Pet Sitter:

  • We provide the following services at no extra cost when services are rendered on pet sitting visits: oral & topical medications, inject-able medications, sub-cu fluids, and nail trims.
  • We provide an alternative source of care for your pet(s) in their home environment
  • We help to prevent you from feeling like you are imposing on friends or neighbors
  • We provide you with the peace of mind that your pets are being cared for as you would care for them
  • We maintain your pet(s) own feeding, medication, and exercise routine at home
  • We relieve the stress for both you and your pet(s) by keeping them home instead of taking them to a loud and cramped  kennel
  • We provide the added security of having someone trusted coming and going, giving your house a 'lived in' look while you're away

As an experienced horse person and horse owner, I realize how difficult it is to go away and leave your equine kids in the hands of another person. I have many years experience in whole stable care as well as kind and patient one on one large animal care.  Feel confident in leaving your horse(s) in the care of someone who can:

  • Recognize the early signs of illness, disease and lameness
  • Ability to give injections and can add oral medications/supplements to feed
  • Ability to provide first aid (including bandaging and wound care)
  • Maintain your large animal(s) feeding, haying, grain, and supplements to their regular care schedule
  • Provide Stall Cleaning, Riding, Lunging, and Grooming options to clients

-An initial consultation visit is required when meeting a new client for the first time, however there is no extra charge to you. At this time, key pick-up is scheduled and an extensive pet greeting session will take place.

-While you are away, a complete pet report will be completed to let you know how things went during your time away from home. Contact while you are away can be as often or as little as you wish. I am available by phone and e-mail and love when owners care enough to check in on their pets while they are away from home.
